Before the first close, decide who provides changes, who calculates payroll and who authorises payment. A simple written process makes the work less dependent on someone remembering an outstanding task.
Do not determine the employment regime by headcount alone
Do not assume a company falls under Peru's microenterprise employment regime simply because it has few employees. The company's status, applicable requirements and individual employment circumstances need review.
The Ministry of Labour's guide explains the micro and small enterprise regime and its particular features. Use it as a reference when assessing the business instead of copying benefits from a similarly sized company. Source: MTPE's MYPE employment regime guide.
Prepare the starter information
Collect employee identification, employment conditions, start date, remuneration, working schedule and the details needed for records and payment. Identify missing documents and who will obtain them.
Before sending them externally, agree a suitable channel and share only necessary information. An initial quotation can use headcount and operational characteristics; it does not require identity documents or an identifiable salary database.
Separate calculations, records and execution
Even if one person coordinates several tasks, keep them distinct in the checklist. Establish who will:
- Prepare changes and validate updated information.
- Calculate remuneration and applicable pay elements.
- Handle relevant registrations and filings.
- Prepare and deliver payslips within the agreed service.
- Authorise and execute payments.
- Retain evidence and address observations.
The provider's proposal should identify which tasks it accepts. Review the differences between calculations, T-Registro and PLAME before assuming the whole process is covered.
What Lynch Payroll's starting fee covers
Lynch Payroll's minimum fee is US$100 plus IGV per month for up to five employees. The same minimum applies below five employees. IGV is Peru's value-added tax.
The fee includes only payroll calculations, an initial review of existing employment contracts with recommendations, and a checklist of formal obligations the company should have in place. The review is initial; it does not represent ongoing advice or preparation of all employment documents.
Procedures and other tasks must be expressly defined. More than five employees requires a tailored base proposal. Consult the pricing and growth model. Invoicing is in US dollars, and all amounts are exclusive of IGV.
Prepare the second month during the first
At the close, retain a list of outstanding matters and set the next input deadline. Fixed salaries can still be affected by holidays, leave and employee changes.
The company can retain internal coordination while contracting the specialist work it needs. Each responsibility should have an owner, and the fee should correspond to the selected scope.
